Chocolate Date Balls (Vegan, No Added Sugar)

A naturally sweet, wholesome snack made with simple ingredients. Perfect for a quick energy boost or healthier treat.
Ingredients:
1 cup ground oats
2–3 tbsp sugar-free nut butter (peanut, almond, or cashew)
1 tbsp cacao powder
175 g dates (pitted)
1 tbsp chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional)
Optional: desiccated coconut (for rolling)
Instructions:
Blend or grind oats into a flour consistency if not already ground.
In a bowl, mix the ground oats, cacao powder, and chia or flaxseeds (if using).
In a pan, gently heat the dates with a splash of water.
Cook for a few minutes until soft and sticky.
Add the dates and nut butter to the oat mixture.
Mix well until a dough forms (add a small splash of water if needed).
Roll into bite-sized balls using your hands.
Optional: roll in desiccated coconut.
Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to firm up (optional but recommended).
Rest for a few minutes before serving so the layers hold together.
